Augusta has a number of local loan programs available to assist businesses and entrepreneurs with obtaining capital to start a new business or expand operations of an existing business. By submitting the Uniform Loan Application, applicants simultaneously apply for assistance from three distinct loan programs offered through the City of Augusta and Augusta Progress Inc (API).

API is a non-profit economic development corporation chartered in 1992. Board members consist of stakeholders representing many facets of the Augusta community, including banking, government, professional services, and business owners. API has been an instrumental organization for the founding and expansion of Augusta's Industrial Park.

Augusta Municipal Airport is a public-use general aviation airport owned and operated by the City of Augusta, Kansas. Conveniently located along Highway 54/400 just 10 minutes east of Wichita, AMA provides a vital link to our quiet community as well as the bustling Wichita metro area.
Situated just outside the congested commercial airspace of Wichita, AMA offers a convenient stop for both piston and small business jet aircraft. A business plan is required to be submitted as part of this application packet. API encourages all applicants to seek technical assistance when developing their business plan and financial projections. For new business start‐ups especially, API strongly recommends contacting the Kansas Small Business Development Center (KSBDC). Technical assistance will be provided free of charge.
